Reilly + James’s Glacier Elopement
‘First looks’ are one of my favorite parts of a wedding day! Reilly + James tied in a little bit of tradition by sleeping in different cabins the night before their elopement. They held hands and prayed as they were getting ready behind the cabin door to uphold the ritual! And before we took off on the helicopter James saw his bride for the first time that day.
Reilly + James’s original wedding plan was changed due to Covid, and they deiced to elope on a glacier via helicopter! They surrounded their Alaskan elopement with heartwarming sentimentality to remind them of their loved ones. Reilly’s beautiful crown was actually hand made and worn by her own mother on her wedding day. It’s such a timeless piece and was absolutely a perfect choice to embody her mother’s love.
Reilly talked to me before the elopement about incorporating the silver trays from her great grandmother and grandmother as part of the gourmet spread. Not only was this a loving sentiment but it created such a unique spread for the picnic. All these little touches add to the intimacy of the elopement experience.
James tied in his passion as a pilot to the decision of his wedding band. He chose a band made of recycled material from a retired aircraft. The intent in wearing this ring for a lifetime is really meaningful and it’s what builds such a romantic love story!
A refreshing dip of the fingers and a sip of glacier water to quench the thirst! Glacier water is the best water in the world!
